Broker License Requirements

Broker or Associate Broker:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years of age
  • Minimum 90 hours of broker prelicense education (click here for specific course requirements)
  • Two (2) years of active real estate sales experience within preceding five (5) years
  • Complete fingerprint background check
  • State and national broker license exam Errors & Omissions Insurance (click here for info on RISC group E&O insurance)
  • Proof of legal presence in U.S.

For Designated Broker, add the following:

  1. Business Conduct & Office Operations (BCOO) or Idaho Brokerage Management course within preceding 3 years (may not be waived)

  2. Trust Account Notification form

  3. Certificate of Assumed Business Name (if necessary) filed with Idaho Secretary of State

  4. Company license application (see application form for additional required information)
